Yes she did...sorry, I should have mentioned it in my update.

Basically, other than possible food allergies, water is a big cause. She said to just be extra careful when I bathe him, and to tell my groomer to do the same, because some dogs are just more susceptible than others to ear infections.

She also said to make sure that my groomer gets all the hair out of the inside of his ears -- the less hair, the more easily his ears will dry and not trap water which can cause infections. She also suggested I clean his ears myself regularly with the solution she gave me and a cotton swab.

Since I adopted him at the age of 4 this past summer, I'm not sure if he had a history of ear infections. She said that if it ends up that he gets them often and seems susceptible to ear infections then I'll have to take care even when he goes out in the rain, plays in the snow, or scratches his ears while his paws are wet, muddy, or dirty.
