People should get whatever kind of dog they want or like. I have a friend who has a cockapoo...she did not want a poodle but she liked cocker spaniels but didn't want a dog that shed...her cockapoo was a perfect mix of the two.
I'm not sure why everyone thinks that by mixing a dog with a poodle that it will automatically not shed. This is a big thing with the lab/poodle mixes (or labradoodles ) People buy them because they are supposed to be shed-free, but that's not always the case. When you take a shedding dog and breed it with a non-shedding dog, you are going to get a 50/50 chance for shedding. You could get a dog that sheds like a lab, doesn't shed like a poodle, or sheds somewhat but less than a lab would. I know of many lab/poodle mixes turned over to rescue groups because families bought them thinking they would by "hypoallergenic" and the dog ended up shedding when it grew up.
