I have heard this before....true? I suppose it could happen.
My first yorkie was a male, then a female, and we just brought another little male into the family. My oldest male is 3, the new guy is just 18 weeks or so. I watch them very closely when they are together and will continue to do so until the pup is much older and I am fully comfortable with them being together. But aside from normal (slight) jealously warnings from my older male, there are NO signs of wanting to fight.
I think for the most part, handled correctly in how you bring a new dog into the family, there shouldn't be too much of a problem.
