Any paralegals here? Hi, I am very drawn to research in criminal law, forensic, investagative stuff etc.. I would have loved to be a lawyer, but I can not defend someone I know is wrong so that's shot. Anyway, I keep thinking about paralegal. I called and there is a very good school not too far from me that holds classes 3 times a week and they said it's about a year course. Do you think I would get fullfill any of my passions in this career? I know every thing has their cons but, I am very instrested in this. I mean do paralegals / legal asst. do a lot of hands on stuff for the attorneys? If its a big case do you work long hours with the attorneys? Do you get to ever brain storm with the attorneys? What is the closest you can be to a lawyer w/o actully being one? I am 32 going through a very rough time w/my son I need to focuse on me and invest in my future. I hope my son matures soon and appericates and loves me. I put my education down to make sure he was in Beta and sports, etc.. I did join a health club I just can't cry everyday anymore, I need to put those emotions into moving my life forward and helping my husband who has supported all of us....it's time to take a little pressure off him and make him a wife he can be proud of. The only other thing I have ever ben interested in is education to teach K - 6th grade, but the legal field has always been the strongest pull on me. Any input would be greatly appericated.
Thanks,
