Your puppy is definitely not an idiot - he's a baby! He needs a crate big enough for him and a pee pad. You aren't allowing for his "mistakes" and his tiny bladder. I'd put him and a pee pad in the bathroom and keep him in there at night until he's paper trained and old enough to hold it all night, then move the papers outside.
Also - get a good training book - I suggest something like "Little Dogs: training your pint-sized companion" by Deborah Wood. Best 10 bucks I ever spent. It's training me and her. |
