Teeth Potty training

Hi everyone! I just joined the community and I have a question about training my 8 month old "Tabitha". She's doing great going potty and poopy outside, I'm just don't know how to teach her how to let us know she needs to go. My husband and I are taking her outside every day at the same time and she will go each time. She is currently on a 6 ft leash in the kitchen so that she doesn't go on the carpet. How can I ween her off the leash and train her to go to the patio door to show me she has to go potty without us having to take her each time? I want her to be able to be free in the house but I'm afraid she'll poop or pee on the carpet. We have an 11 year old rot/chow mix (they get along great) that will go along behind her and probably pee on top of what she has done and we're trying to avoid that. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!
