I have sold and bought on eBay the past few years.

I've only had maybe 4 problems, which is a small, small fraction of my total transactions.

Generally if I sell anything with a value more than I could afford to lose, I don't use paypal. Its harder for ppl to scam you if you require payment through money order. Of course I just sold 3 mugs on eBay for btwn $100-$200 a piece and had ppl pay through paypal, I'd better be careful or that might come back to bite me in the butt.

The only problems I've had is a guy saying the txt book I sent was wrong edition and not in good condition. I offered a full refund if he sent it back, he never did. He did open up a paypal claim, but never closed on it, so he didn't get his money back.

Another guy was upset about the condition of something, he sent it back and I did a full refund.

I've had to do claims through paypal for two items I never recieved.

OH, and a hint to all of those who have had paypal claims against them. The person that opens the claim has so long to escalate the claim, and have paypal decide (i think 15 days maybe), but alot of ppl don't know this and once they open it they don't escalate it. If they don't escalate it to let paypal decide, the claim closes down completely and they lose their chance to get their money back.
