I'm taking a total shot in the dark here!! Ok, some working dogs have their tails docked so they didn't get in the way of their job right? Yorkies used to be used for chasing rats out of the mines and stuff, so maybe they started to dock them so it was out of the way? I dunno. Here's another theory. Ok the tail is like an extremity, there is cirulation in it and everything, so maybe it if the temperatures or weather was a factor it would keep the energy in the core of the body? I really dont know just a
