Hi Linda and welcome to YT. Congratulations on your new fur-baby, but boy, 7 weeks...ouch. Hope she has no complications down the road. As for the biting, all puppies bite, it's what they do best, and how they learn to defend themselves. It's just instinct. First off do NOT play with the puppy with your hand. They think this is the thing to bite and play with if you do. I have a puppy myself that wants to bite everything that moves. If they bite down on your hand, DO NOT take your hand away, or they win! It gives them power and is putting them in the alpha position, which you do not want. YOU are the alpha. When they bite down, don't move, but just make a loud sound such as NO or ACK. I use the ACK and it works every time. Sooner or later they stop biting the hand, but may go after the feet or pant legs.
