Confused (Scared Now) - Just used Frontline Plus

Just when you think you have researched, learned and are comfortable that nasty anxiety cycle hits again!

TJ and Roxy were on Revolution. Then I deceided that they really need protection from ticks. So the vet recommended Frontline and Interceptor for heartworm. I had read some threads here on YT and from my reading the concenious seemed to be Frontline Plus. The Vets office only had the Frontline Plus Gold (11-22 lbs), they assured me that this was the 'old' packaging and the new package is re-written to say up to 22lbs, but they are the same and they are good for TJ (3.5 lbs - 6 months) and Roxy (3.5 - 8 months). The Vets pricing was a bit much since I was buying for 2 babies, so I followed a thread from YT to www.fleaclub.com where the pricing is fair. I bought 2 packs of the 3 month supply (6 month total). Their packaging says the 11-22lbs, but going back to what the Vet said and looking around at the Frontline Plus packaging it does seem that the 11-22lbs and the up to 22lbs are the same. So, I felt comfortable in putting it on them.

Here is where I am scared...I didn't know that you should wait like 3 days after they are bathed to put it on. Roxy was bathed and groomed on Sat. and I put it on her on Sunday, is that ok? The packaging doesn't say anything about 3 days...I will wait to bath them, but I do want to bath as soon as I can b/c that hair is so sticky there and they constantly play fit and I know that they are biting each there (not b/c of the Frontline, but b/c they always do). Is it bad that they taste it, or has time passed and it is dry and not harmful if they taste it?

And now I just read that thread about Frontline Plus being bad for these small dogs and to use Frontline Top Spot! I can't win...I can't wait to get home to inspect them.

Please, someone advise me! Do I continue with the Frontline Plus? I have another 2 months supply each. Should I use 1/2 the doesage on them (when I was putting it on them it did seem like sooooooooooo much)? They do not have fleas (I have never seen one, they are never really around any other dogs, except for the Vet and the Groomers) and they do not go galavanting around outside. We take short walks 2 times a week on a lease.

I AM SO CONFUSED! I want to protect them but I do not want to hurt them.
