Had both of mine microchipped last year. Rocky let out a horrible sound when he got chipped and Daisy didn't even budge. Rocky was bent out of shape for about two weeks and Daisy acted if nothing ever happened. We find that Rocky cannot deal with any type of discomfort and he does remind us of this from time to time.
If Maddie is still feeling this way after 3-4 weeks you may want to take her back to the vet. If this was just done recently, then I'd chalk it up to low pain tolerance with a side of mood swing for sympathy. ;-)
