Think it's very important to put down:

-Date lost
-Breed, male or female, description
-Your address (lady mentioned this helped)
-Phone number

If enough people see these flyers, there is bound to be someone who may have seen it, or know of somone who recently has been caring for one. If you notice someone has taken the flyers down, then start putting them back up.
