When the lady opened her front door, I saw a frilly small dog bed, small dog food bag and toys in the foyer..Dog bed still had the tag on it. I asked if she was Mrs. XXXX, and introduced myself. Once she heard my name she got that stunned look (Keep in mind I left over 4 messages on her machine). I told her that I left over 4 calls and that since I didn't hear back I decided to stop by since she only lived 3 blocks away. She asked how I got her address, and I said since the lady in her mothers days out program knew her name & phone number, that was enough info for me to google her address.
She first asked me to provide all shot records, etc, because she didn't feel comfortable he was mine. I then described a birth mark on his belly that is very unique. She then mentioned she would prefer to wait until Monday and talk to my vet. This was a Saturday after 5 PM....OK, That's when I threatened to call police. She closed her front door for about 4 long minutes and came out with Rocky. Min later her husband asked how much does a dog like him run....This man was total SLIME. I reached out took Rocky from his wife and thanked them as I walked Rocky back to the car.
Very sad that there are people like this in our world. Very important when a pet has gotten out, to flood the are w/flyers, call animal control, spca, all vets in your are, talk to your neighbors and even people you don't know to get the word out. Keep flyers up even if you think it's too late.
Good to know that good out weighs bad. Some how the lady who notified me, knew there was something fishy about this women.
