Here are my thoughts. We all are learning new things everyday. I have learned SO much about the care of yorkies since I got Ginger just 3 years ago. Yet I had been a pet owner my entire life. In order to learn how to be do the absolute BEST by my furkids, I needed to let go of some of my preconcieved ideas about it. I would NEVER even consider breeding unless I was prepared to devote myself entirely to learning the best, most ethical practices.
You have a great opportunity here at YT to ask advice from some experienced and dedicated breeders. Yet, it seems, you (like many others) do not wish to hear what their real opinions/advice are (such as to get a new vet and to not let this baby have puppies). Instead, you want to hear what they would do in this situation. But the reality is, they wouldn't let their dogs get into this situation in the first place. Please, consider that much of what is being said here IS the best advice.
Finally, and this is not to be mean, just to inspire thought for anyone out their considering breeding. THOUSANDS of unwanted yorkies end up in rescue each year. There are many reasons for this, but one big contributor is the number of dogs being bred. I, for one, wish that everyone would leave breeding to the serious, ethical, "doing it for the improvement of the breed" breeders. | |
