I can pretty much tell when they are born I have had a a few with dull matte coats and the rest looked real shiney and have grown up to have proper coats. I no longer use the stud that was giving me the pups with matte coats. But they were obvious right away. I have called people regarding puppies and if they can't even give me a generalization of what the coat appears to be I won't even be bothered to look. I have one male fixed with a soft cottony coat that mattes so easily I have to keep him short as not to hurt him while grooming. I have one that is a modified silk and three that are true silks and they are so much easier to take care of. |
