My 3 year old Yorkie just had surgery for her collapsed trachea.
After doing some research, and contacting the National Yorkshire terrier Rescue for support and guidance I traveled to Tennessee for her surgery to be preformed~
I was surprised how many Yorkies are treated there for liver shunts.
Dr. Tobias of the University of TN. Veterinary Teaching Hospital has an amazing reputation for treating Yorkies with Liver problems.
She is currently conducting some new exciting studies. From what I heard, liver shunt dogs have better treatment options than ever, and they do very well after surgery.
