Hi everyone -- My husband and I have adopted a 4 month old female puppy who is currently having a breakout from demodex. The person I got her from couldn't handle taking care of her and we felt so sorry for her, so we decided to take her home with us. I know that its not contaigous and won't hurt my other Yorkie, but I want to know if anyone else has had experience with this? Through my short research I found that flare ups come from elevated stress levels, usually hormonal, so she will be spayed immediately after this flare up goes away.

I got this stuff called Dermisil (I think) that you mix in with regular shampoo and bathe every 5 days and it says it guarantees that it won't come back. But since this is due to weakened immune system, it makes me believe that there is something I can add to her diet, or change her diet to something else to strengthen her immune system.

If anyone has any words of wisdom I would certainly appreciate them!
