You sound old enough to know showing is no different then any other thing going on in the world...there are good and bad people. This is a free country and we all have the choice to make our own decisions...but I never let some bad apples deprive my dogs of a title if they were worthy. I weeded out the bad handlers and got a great one...there are honest people in the show world.
I do not understand the stud thing and AKC...I had a woman who used to come help my husband with the dogs when I was away..she cleaned etc...the last time she did this, she brought her bitch who JUST happened to be in heat...well, suddenly 9 weeks later I get a call that her bitch had a litter of puppies, it seems one of my males must have gotten to her and since she was only around one, the woman knew exactly who sired the litter..she wanted me to sign an AKC application...I knew this was not an accident, you do not just happen to take your "ready to be bred bitch" to a breeding kennel without a motive...I had refused her stud service in the past because the bitch was 12 pounds/flop earred..AND the stud who "got" to her was 3 pounds..Shorty never bred without help in his life and not to a 12 pounder...
I am a Christian woman, but not a door mat..I said HELL, NO...called the AKC and they backed me up...she got no papers. |
