Congrats on finding your baby

1. When your Yorkie was Franklin's age (about 12 weeks), how many times did you feed him/her a day? Or did you free-feed? I free-fed Lacy kibble. She wouldn't ever eat much at one time and would just nibble here and there. When she got older, I would put 1/2cup food in her bowl and when it was gone, it was gone for the day. She's on a raw diet now though and I feed her twice a day. If I had a puppy, I'd feed 3-4 times a day depending on size (a tiny one would get 4 a day)

2. During said feedings, how much did you give him/her (for instance, 1 cup)? I think I answered that above

3. Did you use both dry and wet food? Do you prefer either one or a combination of both? I just did dry, but I didn't know as much as I do now about nutrition. Between kibble and canned, I would feed canned - it is less processed and has moisture that is good for them. You can mix the two as well if you want. I think a raw diet is the best for them - there are lots of threads in the health & diet forum if you want to get more info on it.

4. What dog food (brand) do you use? She at Purina Pro Plan puppy for several months until I realized it was crap. I then switched her to Wellness which she ate for about a year before I switched to a raw diet. The better kibbles/canned foods out there are Innova, Nature's Variety, Wellness, California Natural, Canidae, Merrick, among others.

5. What should I use as far as treats for training? i would find natural treats that you can break into teeny tiny pieces. I like Wellness Pure Rewards.
