I used to be a Flight Attendant for United Ailrlines. I would fly with my Schnauzer in cargo at that time, when on passes on my free time. Then the pilots said to me that that really wasn't safe. My husband and I fly quite a bit back and forth from Chicago to Florida now. We have a Red Bellied Parrot and our priceless Yorkie "Taylor". We pay $75 for each pet, each way.
Taylor does the 2 1/2 hour flight well....and so does Wrigley, our little parrot. I can see that a longer flight could be a problem because any "Travel Day" is LONG! Wrigley, our parrot seems to be the trouble-maker. He waits until we are about 34,000 feet in the air and the flight attendants are doing their beverage service....then he starts his "Cell Phone" ring. The flight attendants are looking around to see WHO didn't turn off their phone...and passengers are all shaking their heads....like IT'S NOT ME!!!!! When they discover that it's our little parrot usually everyone laughs....and then Wrigley let's out with a big laugh too. So far we've been lucky without any big delays.
One tip is always make sure that you have a very up to date heath certificate and all paperwork with your baby. |
