I got my maltese when Miko was almost 3 yrs old and the maltese was 7 months old, and they did great!!
It may take some time for your yorkie to adjust (weeks to a couple of months), but I'm pretty sure they will do great together. Maltese and yorkies complement each other very nicely. I love both of my babies!!
