For those flying to the meet-up, you will need to fly into MCI (Kansas City International) and take a shuttle or taxi from the airport to the hotel (or rent a car if you’d prefer). I have spoken to SuperShuttle (
www.supershuttle.com) regarding our meet-up, and they are looking into our options to see if we can put some sort of a group rate together for everyone flying in. Because we will all be arriving at different times, we may not be able to work this out, but I will let you know as I find out more. For now, plan on doing the shuttle on your own, and budget $18.00 each way for SuperShuttle’s shared van ride option (you would be in the van with up to 9 other people). I recommend making reservations in advance, but this is NOT something you need to worry about booking now. I use SuperShuttle all the time to/from LAX, and as long as you’ve made your reservation about 24-hours in advance, that’s plenty of time. SO…please don’t worry about this now and just keep an eye on this thread as I find out more about a possible group rate. For those preferring a taxi, I have no idea how much money to tell you to budget for.
- Once you get to the hotel, the hotel offers a free shuttle within 2 miles of the hotel. We will make sure the hotel shuttle driver knows where we’re meeting on Friday and my hotel contact has agreed to transport all our members and their dogs to the park on Friday so you don’t have to worry about getting there. They will also take you anywhere else you want/need to go within 2 miles of the hotel during your entire stay there!
