It sounds like you are on the right track. Zoe is 10 months and rarely has an accident and when she does, it's usually my fault. I frequently think I better put her out and then I get sidetracked and if I don't catch myself, she'll have an accident. But if I watch, she dances around and tries to tell me. She does not bark or whine though. And I will say, do you have to go outside and then she really dances and gets excited. I think you have to use the same phrase for things, and they get the hang of it. Some people use potty bells but so far, Zoe has not gotten the hang of that although I have to admit, probably my fault. Good Luck and be patient.
