I had a very similar situation. The first time I took Bauer for his puppy vaccinations, the vet said. If you notice any swelling of the face, vomiting or difficulty breathing, bring him back right away. Well . . . before we even got out the front door Bauer threw up then laid on the ground and sarted panting. I piccked him up and noticed his eyes were begining to swell. I ran him back to the nurse and they took him in the back to start him on benedryl. The doctor said he had an allergic reaction to the live cultures in the vaccine. They had to keep him for several hours, for observation. I was a mess. Luckily the reaction began before we left the vets office. So now any time he has a booster he has to have a shot of benedryl 15 mins prior to the injection.
