I had never heard of this policy before the whole Ellen Degernes thing. And, I too thought it to be absurd. My daughter does excellent with Meka and she is 5 yrs old. and has been doing good since we got Meka at 9 wks.

I do however, think that they should put a limit on it (maybe, w/ children under 5), because I can understand that kids can be rough, and envious if not given enough attention and in some cases act out on the animal for that.
