First you must get her trained to come when called. With my two males, I hooked a long lead on to my belt loop and kept it on whether I was indoors or out, the pups were attached to the lead. The lead was long enough to allow the dogs to go into other rooms (about 25 feet long) then I would call come here, if they did not, I reeled them in. If they came, they got a treat and praise. Took about a week. They always come when I call now. Also you might try a halti harness, allows more control for the person over the pup. They are difficult to find in extra small and that is what you would need for her. As far as running off, keep a tight hold on that leash, for little ones, they are very strong. Good luck. |
