Sounds like they are your dogs to me, if you have their papers and they are in your name. It doesn't matter who paid for them. As long as they are looked after right now, get yourself sorted out and into your new place..then go after the dogs. they do not need you living in a mess and stressed neither..again, that all depends on how much stress they have to deal with while being where they are now..
