Do not wait till 12 months old or you might just as well leave things alone.. once he starts to lift his leg you will have that problem forEVER~~!
Do it now and use squirt bottle and new paper slap it on your hand when you see him going to do something you don't like.. then say no loudly.. and do the same with squirt bottle... You can break the habit now before it's too installed..

I have 3 males studs...my old stud who is neutered never did lift leg in house but I was on his case as a pup and he was very sweet and hurt feelings by just say NO... Some are HOPELESS lifters.. Ha!!! But we love them ALL .. If you have dogs this is one of many things they do..
