She can't be there because she is a witness to the crime. ANYONE who testifies cannot be in there while other people are testifying. Kat's husband and I were not allowed in there while she was testifying and vice versa. When I testified, Kat and Brian (her hubby) had to remain outside and while Brian testified, Kat and I had to remain outside.
It really stinks. It's like the CRIMINAL has more rights than the victim. He can be in there for EVERYTHING.
But Kat has to be left in the dark. It's so upsetting.
