I'm sorry about Hallie. I pray that she will be okay. But you are right, in the grand scheme of things there are so many much worse things than blindness, and you would be surprised at how well dogs can get around without sight. My step-grandmother's poodle had blindness from cataracts, and she walked around that house very well. I think they can smell their way around.
