My yorkie is 7 months old, he is a big boy (thank God) weighs 8 pounds. When I give him a bath I can not believe the amout of muscle this little guy has, he is built like my boxer. The only time Snickers is ready to be held is when he is tired. He will jump up around me and want me to sit down with him so he can take a nap.
He he, my Tara is only 9 weeks but seems to be copy of Snickers in female version. She doesn't care much about being held, except when tired or sleepy. She is very energetic and would rather play with her toys, shake her rubber bone to death! It's a shame but I love holding her even against her will, but then she has to go down again and release her energy. She can whine and whine, but she is toughening up and overnight she does well in the kitchen, waking up around 6-7 a.m. when my husband goes free her anyway as he goes to work. I think she is adjusting to the house rules and doesn't cry around 1 a.m. as she used to the first week or two. Now she let's us sleep at least 7-8 hours, knowing we are coming to get her in the morning. This morning I heard her but I think she is getting the message that crying does not work anymore and it's better for her to learn to spend time on her own in her bed. During the day she is always with us if possible and if we go out she always comes with us, she quite enjoys to sleep in the car, while we are in a shop.
