I think it's fine to cuddle with them and take them many places for socialization, but I also think it's important to allow the puppy to walk on it's own, get used to a leash, and walk around in unfamiliar settings (not in a bag).
I see so many people that only carry their dogs in bags and then they have no idea how to walk on a leash and interact.
