Oh my goodness, I had no idea this happened to you, too! I'm going to go read your thread. There is a compensation fund that we can file for, but the maximum payout is only $15000 and my dad paid almost twice that for the car. Another problem is, he paid most of it by certified check but paid the rest in cash, so there's no paper trail for the cash, and so he can't prove the actual price that he paid for it Can I PM you to talk more about this?

The point we are at right now, is all dealers must have a bond protecting customers. We have sent in a claim but have no idea if we will see any money. Be sure to report it to the DMV and they can also tell you how to the the information on the dealer's bond.
