My Emmy is microchipped. We had it done when she was spayed. Alyssa on the other hand, is not. Her vet wants to just do it in his office without any pain medicine. I just can't do that to her. If she has to be put to sleep for any procedure we will have her microchipped. Until then we just try to keep her close at hand and just hope that her collar id would work in case she became lost. Hopefully, no one would take it off from her. She will eventually be microchipped, too. I just think it is very important for their safety...and our peace of mind.
