I don't think anyone was mean at all. Everyone gave their opinions which was what I thought people do on an open forum. I certainly know when I post something personal venting or asking for advice I will get many different responses both good and bad.
People can still be your friends without agreeing with your choices or telling you only things you want to hear. I know that my *best* friends are the ones who honestly give me their opinion from the goodness of their heart whether I want to hear it or not.
If I would choose to get defensive about their advice, I'd miss the points they were trying to make.
I really wish the OP the best of luck in the situation. I don't think there are any evil or vicious people on YT
