I know that when leaving a dog show, I wipe down all my equipment with anti bacterial wipes....husband scrubs them down when I get home....I don't enter the dog area until I've taken a shower.....Yeah! I'm a bit anal.
No, you are just cuaitous. I had never thoughtof doing those things when showing since I have just started. makes sense to me because even tho my girl held her pee until she was in front of the judges, I had her out on the grounds several times before her turn in the ring. About two or three days after we got home from the show, she had diarreha that took me a week or so to get her over it. Nothing else. Just the runs. None of the other dogs had anything and did not catch anything from her so I figured she must have picked up a bug at the show. I will be more careful from now on. of course, right now, i don't have all the equipement you take with you but i will wipe what I have down and her too when she goes outside. heck, what is even the point of taking her out if she is going to pee in the ring, right?
