The only thing that is required by each state is Rabies....so, you do have rights as a responsible canine owner....
My pups leave my home with a minimum of 2 vaccines prior to leaving my home and since they do go to local homes....my new families have opted to use my vet.....
I highly recommend that you take an active role in your medical care for your pups......I know that the vet I did have was no longer my vet when I asked him if he performed dentals on all the dogs that came in....he told me that his vet techs did it.....I politely told him that I would no longer being using him for my dentals....he asked why....my response was is that I'm paying for vet services not tech services and I want to make sure that should an emergency arise I want to make sure that the vet is at the helm.....
So, if you are unhappy with your vet.....and he won't do what you ask him too, tell him you'll find another vet...
My vet knows that I give my own vaccines.....however, he does know that I do not falter on annual checkups, including flotation. dentals and emergencies. So, he isn't going to lose out on obtaining money from me.
