This happened to me some years back in MD...a truck carrying toxic chemicals over turned close to our street..the firemen came and told everyone to leave in case of toxic fumes..I couldn't..I had a kennel full, probably 15 and some with puppies. My friend lived up the street and she had at least 25 Yorkies herself...we would need a pick up truck for all the carriers.
There was no way I could walk out and leave them as the fireman wanted and fortunately, they can not force you.....what if I couldn't go back for days, what if there was fumes and I came back to a houseful of dead dogs, what if they were scared and slowly dying, I had to be there..so I stayed, decided we would all go together..my husband was at work and had a fit when he heard, but whatelse could my friend and I do...?
BUT, we did go and buy enough carriers to crate every dog if we were ever forced to leave (by husbands)...I only had 6 Vari-kennels at the time..
