Just wanted to actually answer batista's question as to why they say it's bad for dogs to sleep in your bed. Disclaimer: this is generalized dog information not specifically yorkie. Experts say it sends a bad message to let a dog sleep with you. You should be the alpha dog in your relationship with your dog, in order to have a well trained well behaved dog. there fore the alpha dog, you, should get the prime sleeping spot, aka the bed. If the dog is allowed to sleep with you the dog will view this as a sign that you are equals. You will then lose your alpha dog status possibly making it harder to train your dog.

I know a lot of you sleep with your dogs and i have no problem with that. this is just what i read. Our pup sleeps in his own room in a crate, with the radio on and the door shut. this is how he likes it. He had to sleep in our room one night because my in-laws were in town and he was a wreck because it wasn't what he was used too. after about a week he stopped whining when we put him in the crate. He whines at about 6:30 in the morning now because he needs to go out and potty. but that's okay.
