Hey I had one of those! They are very common! Pylonidal (sp?) cyst on the tailbone... very VERY painful. I did not need surgery thank god, but I did have to have it lanced and that was extremely painful and every now and then it 'acts up'. Surgery is very common though, and it should be gone for life now! Oh I remember the pain though. I could not sit or laydown on my back! I cried all the time until I finally went to the docs! Your poor grandson... Im sooo glad that hes getting it taken care of! Tell him in the meantime a warm bath for awhile softens it and makes the pain a little more tolerable. Good Luck to him
