Default breeding

Want a laugh...?
I had a champion who was gorgeous silk, good structure, everything I loved...so I buy a nice female, champion-sired, great coat like my male, pretty head also. Violet was 8 months when I got her..I had to wait a year..one entire year of planning this pefect litter..and the pups come.
I got 3 puppies. Three of the worst quality I had bred in a number of years. They were long like Skye Terriers..and where did all the blue and gold go? There faces/legs were white..and light silver backs.

I was at a well known show breeders home a few years ago...two oversized, flop earred pups were playing the backyard...they were a combo of two champion parents of exceptional quality...the breeder waited two years for that litter...I sure learned alot that day and didn't feel so bad about my "Skye Terriers". lol
