Oh Laura, I am so sorry your little baby isn't feeling well. My son takes both of his dogs to allergists and they are on medication but really I don't see any difference in their itching. My last dog was a cocker and he itched his whole life but he didn't have swollen glands. Instead of a gland could it be where they either gave him a shot or took blood? You both will be in my prayers.
