I've been docking for 24 or 25 yrs.. I've seen pups that people have done die as they were too small.. some of my pups are very small 3# full grown.. You don't just wack tails because someone tells you to.

Everyone has their own way of doing things.. and if your are unconfortable with doing later that's fine.. but you must remember it's a shock to their little bodies and I like them to have a few more onces of energy to work off of.. Also when doing it a hot water bottle is conforting to them.. I know people who have taken them in on the 3rd day and thought they were fine and next morn had dead puppy or puppy's..
I've never lost a pup due to tail docking.. I loose very few at all..

They are so small and defensless and I feel this waiting give them a better chance of dealing with it..I was just telling as to why I do it.. on the 7th day..

Have a great week end..
