I am so glad you know something about this!
My 7 year old son just went to the dentist. Now that his front adult teeth have come in, the dentist was quite concerned with his bite. He has always looked a little something different to me in the mouth area(only noticeable to a mother, I'm sure), that I couldn't put my finger on, but the dentist pointed out to me exactly what it is. She gave me NO info on it, just left me to imagine all kinds of things of how it is fixed. I have an orthodontist appt in Sept for him, that is so far away. I looked on the internet and only saw very extreme cases that looked nothing like what he has going on.
Annadoodle, your description sounds just like what he has. I am so glad that braces fix it easily! I was quite upset about it, mostly because I was thinking he would have to have something very painful done. The dentist went on and on about how if this wasn't corrected that he would look funny as an adult, with speach and eating problems. Although he has no signs of a problem right now. He had a slight lisp as a very young child, but he doesn't have it anymore.
Anyway, thank you so much for replying. Any other info you care to share with me is appreciated. Could you tell me at what age did your daughter get braces? Was it fixed completely?
Thanks again |
