It's always a good idea to neuter your little guy if you aren't going to breed him. That said, Gizmo still humps and he was neutered a month ago. It's not sexual, it really is a dominance thing. He doesn't make contact either. He just makes the motions.
I have no idea about how young to neuter. We waited, but it was mainly because I was a wus and kept putting it off.
