The amount of $$ spent on leather doesn't necessarily reflect the quality. First of all I want to say that I am not knocking any imorted products in general, but from my personal experience I have found that leather produced from American cattle, processed and tanned in America is far superior to the leather products that I have purchased that were imported.
If you are going to buy a leather couch, ask to see a sample of the leather and check it for quality. If you have a question, then take the sample to someone who knows leather -- maybe a good shoe repair shop -- or if you ar truly lucky and have a harness or saddle maker nearby they would be an excellent source for checking the quality. |
