It takes a little patience to wait for him to stop barking, but it really does seem to work! Dog Trainers always say that you need to be careful that you are rewarding the behavior and NOT the end of the behavior; this time is the opposite; you DO want to reward the end, not while it is happening.

If you re-read my post you will see that that is exactly what I told her to do, only once you are 100% certain that they know what 'quiet' means do you say it while they are still barking
