We do our own tails and dew claws.. day 7.. keep your pups on hot water bottle as this is a shock and I know of friends pups who died.. at doing it on day 3.. I don't like exposing them to vet office other sick dogs..

If you pups are really small wait till day 7 if they are bigger do day 5.. Bumbie who was the size of my thumb tail like a heavy peice of yarn.. so tinny..

Let you vet do it but make sure he dosen't cut tooooooo Short.. I hate short tails in a heavy coat.. You can't see them wag.. I cut 1/4" or tad more above the brown under the tail.. I like to see a nice flag when they run around the yard..
