I used to have a truly terrible temper. Seriously bad. My first husband nearly drove me nuts and at the end I just lost it. I pulled a knife on him, and shot at him (thank God I was so angry I was shaking and I missed or I'd be in jail right now)
After the divorce, I had to pull myself together. My youngest was 6 weeks old and I had a 4 yr old. It took literally YEARS to be able to control my temper. I've mellowed a lot as I've grown older, but it's something I had to work on every day.
I made sure my children never saw me lose control (they are still the most important things in my life), and I NEVER touch alcohol.
You've got to find something to redirect your anger. Now when I get upset I read, or go for a drive.
I hope I NEVER feel that kind of anger again and I feel for anyone else having to deal with a temper like mine.
