My rescue (well not MINE but the one I work with) has to have a Dept. of Agriculture Kennel license. Kennel does not = breeder, though it is the same one breeders have to get. It not a really big deal, they just have to keep updated paperwork filed with the state and allow an inspection if the inspector comes. There are several "rescues" that have ended up being more like hoarders and its just the gov'ts way of making sure things stay under control and sanitary |
